Hello and welcome to my Blog.
I will post more later but for now, here goes.
It all starts with you! Sure, how many times have you heard that said? Was it yesterday, last week, last month, last year, or today? It struck a chord with me today. Why was today different from any other day I don’t know, it just felt different today.
My wife and I facilitate a spiritual cinema circle, where we get together and view movies at our spiritual home once a month. Then we sit and talk about the movies, ask questions and give our thoughts about the movies. Like how the movie may have answered some of our questions about our relationship with life, or how the actor may have handled certain situations that arose, or how one person’s actions influenced others. The list of questions goes on and on and is never ending but always brings about a lively discussion among the group.
Last evening we saw a movie entitled, The Secret. If you haven’t seen it, I would highly recommend it for everyone on the planet. As I mentioned, we had a discussion after the movie and this discussion was no different from other evenings except that we had a larger than normal group on hand to present their views. As I have spent this morning at our spiritual center for our Sunday Celebration and then a board meeting, I haven’t had tome to spend in thought about our discussions the night before, but now, as I sit down at my computer, I am able to reflect on some the dialogue that took place.
One resounding thought that continues to come to my mind is a discussion that we had about “God’s Will”. I am sure at one time or another, even if we don’t believe in God, we have all wondered, “Why am I here” or “what is my purpose in life”. Such questions enable us all to question what we are doing or where we are in our personal journey upon planet earth.
There may be some readers that may be uncomfortable with the word “GOD” so let’s replace it with another word to move away from the reaction that some may have. What if we replace it with universe, oneness or love or whatever word you choose to represent what it is that gives your inner self a sense of belonging? I have used universe and love in place of God many times in my life for I feel that they are interchangeable, but this book is about you and it is your choice what word you use. So if the word GOD is uncomfortable for you, choose your word and whenever you see the word GOD, replace it with the word of your choice. I have even used the word DOG as that is truly unconditional love. Again, it is your choice.
So as I thought about the God’s will for me I was reminded of the segment in The Secret with Neale Donald Walsh in which he discusses the absence of a huge blackboard in heaven where it is written down what it is you are supposed to do during your time upon earth. He emphasizes that there is no huge blackboard where it is written what you should be or do while upon earth.
What does this mean for you and me? It means that we can start right now creating what it is that we want in life. It means that if you believe God is writing your name on a huge blackboard with a list of the who, what, where, why and how of you, it can be wiped clean so that you can start today to create what it is that you want in life.
